lol how was Turkey to know EOKA B was dead? Well it wasnt a secret...they dont last in Cyprus....but hey, you certainly did your own terrorising along with your Turkish Cypriot terrorist buddies the TMT...but I suppose your going to deny that like you deny other Turkish attrocities.
Id rather be a DJ then a confused Turkish Hick from the dirty south. |
Your post is complete proof that you live in a time warp. You refer to my part of the USA as the "dirty south". Have you ever been to the south of the states? I seriously doubt it. The era you refer to (1960ies) is long past and african americans are becomming more and more successful through sheer confidence and hard work. For you to say that the south of the USA is dirty is simply another pre-conceived notion that is not fair to white Americans who are color blind. This is no surprise coming from you sourcey. You have been brought up on pre-conceived notions about Turks and or Americans. You have no clue about the world and I feel sorry for you just as much of the contempt I harbor against you and people who think like you. You will never change. You will go to your grave an angry old man who has no respect for others or other cultures except for the respect you have for the African culture. You are a Negro wannabe. I also feel sorry for your children....if you are ever lucky enough to have some, but then again, I forgot, we are trying to get you to come out of the closet. Top oglu Top. |

Okay, reading up.... thanks for the welcome to the site, by the way, brother, and good luck with the smoking thing!
The thing that strikes me is that, if the EOKA is no longer in existence and Turkey is willing to back the Annan plan for reunification, don't the problems against reunification depend on the bad blood, grudges and prejudices caused by separation, more than any physical threat to either ethnic group?
Which brings me to the next contentious issue. If, as I've heard, the Annan plan was rejected by Greek Cypriots, what were the major flaws with it that led to that rejection?
I understand there's a lot of water under the bridge, but at some point, perhaps with the help of an impartial fact-finding mission to investigate all the abuses that occurred during the time of both fascist Greece and the Turkish invasion and get recognition for the victims from all communities, will it not be necessary to make free movement throughout the island a reality? How much tension would be caused by the free intermixing of the communities? Exactly what percentage of the overall population is each community?
Thanks for your patience and replies. |
Thanks kerry but i am fighting a losing battle me thinks |

Hang in there,dear brother...
If I can do it,you can do it.Here are a few thoughts on smoking to put a grin on your face:
To stop smoking is really easy,I have done it hundreds of times...
Just remember that the hardest part of stopping smoking are the first 5 years...It gets easier after that.
Good luck. |

Thanks for the link, Dhavlos, I'll try to read up...
I must admit, sitting way out on the other side of Europe, I am in a little bit of a know-nothing position , but look on the bright side, doesn't that make me a clean, unprejudiced slate |

No Kerry, in my experience, it makes you the perfect target for people claiming to know everything to impose their views on you. Unfortunately, you cannot be impartial in Cyprus, if you get involved in discussions on politics, you will be labelled either way (or even both ways, like myself!) |

Welcome kerrygoulde.
Now is a good time to mention that Turkey took only half the island... and there is a reason for ths, as well.
Do not doubt yourself, your thinking is profound. I hope that you find more to say about the solution which in many forms, you will find in our archives.
And like The Cypriot, I hope you will accept our apologies for our emotional state. |

Don't worry, it's impossible to discuss Northern Ireland without some kind of emotional bias either... I may not know much about Cyprus but I understand the problems of discussing these kind of issues.
So, of the members on this site who opposed the Annan plan, would any of them like to put forward their reasons? Or, if you've already discussed this, direct me to the thread (hopefully without a brutal emoticon whipping... ) |

| Kifeas, can you repeat your plan in simpler terms. Please explain to me what benefits the displaced, all the displaced, from 1960 on, their right of return, will be accommodated? |
