I know i had up that provocative avatar for a while and as soon as somebody asked me I took it off.
However. As Mr Boombastic said this decision sucks.
I enjoy finding random avatars which I change all the time.
Cant we put up what we want as long as it acceptable.

Admin would be more than happy to review and then post it in the avatars list for you to use.
We trust our members but we also acknowledge that they are mediteraneans who have fiery tempers and the rest, i hope you understand and appreciate that this is a good way forward. |

| if people are willing to use external avatars that are not provokative...they just need to contact admin/mods for us to decide, and put it on the forum gallery. |

It's simple people. You can use the avatars available from the current selection... As for the selection being limited, I haven't seen many other people assisting in the hunt for avatars to add... You could even take the time to find some more yourselves and suggest that they be added to the galleries.
In addition, if you have a personal preference for an avatar, all you have to do is ask Erol to upload it. Unless it's a flag, pornography or deliberately intended to offend, I'm sure uploading will not be an issue. However, suggesting an avatar does not give you sole rights to use that avatar and you shouldn't expect to have that right. If you create your own and don't want people to violate your copyright, then don't upload it... simple as. In practice, if an avatar is so personal to you, it's highly unlikely anyone else will choose to use it. It went almost a year before anyone else used the cannedmoose avatar on Cyprus-Forum... and as far as I'm concerned, anyone else on this forum is free to join me at the Spidey Gay Disco... |

| Hey you guys, I love my current avatar!!!! You telling me I gotta get rid of it? Say it ain't so! If it is so, perhaps we can also ad some more avatars in the history section besides a couple of communists. |

Xenos: if you'd like more choice, we appreciate your suggestions. As Moose said, not many people have contributed.
Boomerang: I and certainly a lot of other members appreciate the creativity you put into your avatars. I really like (most of) them. However, the main reason of this forum is to debate, discuss and talk; its not a forum for artists to show their work, however nice it may be. As previously said, you are free to sent the avatar you like to be uploaded to admin and I'm sure it will be added to the gallery as long as its acceptable. I personaly think you should be flattered if other members decide that the avatars you create are so nice that they would like to use them. They all bear your copyright sign anyway.
Crash: if we say 'put up whatever we want as long as its acceptable' then the question is: who shall review 24/7 what people upload? Unfortunately its not that easy plus I am not sure that alle members have the required decency...
However, the whole topic has been discussed to length between mods and admins and the announced rule has been decided to be the most feasible and fair one. Also a good number of new avatars have already been added to the gallery. |

In due course the only avatars available will be those in the forum selection. All external or personaly uploaded avatars will be removed.
If you want an avatar added to the forum selection, then pending its 'approval' by mods / admins and the limits of my time it will be.
If you have an avatar that is acceptable that you do not wish anyone else to use then we will try and find a way to do this. Either with some kind of mod, a 'booomers only' avatar section or just plain 'asking' people who use such 'persona' avatars to not do so.
OK ? |

OK I was under the impression that turning off the extrnal avatar and uplaodedavatar function would only work for new avatars , but leave the existing uploaded and linked ones working.
I was wrong and for this appologies.
However the simple solution is to selection one of the forum avatars or send me tyhe avatar you want added.
Sorry about the lack of weeks time - my bad. You live and lear. Still not much point in turning them on again now only to tiurn em off in a weeks time. So its done. |

| For everyone's information, I have given Erol around 350 new avatars to load up... so in the next few days you should have a large selection to choose from. |
