I am not really sure if the government pays them or not, but I do kow that in the north if and when you need anything 'stamped' by the muktar there is a 'vague' amount paid. I had to get my local muktar to stamp a paper as part of getting my ID card here.
It seemed to be a volutary payment of uncertai amount but as far as I could tell you did not want to contibute too little and then not have the muktar on your side in the future should you need them.
That alone seemed a pretty good income from what I could tell. |
Thanx for the information. |
