Which is it? I.E. If someone can write it in Greek fonts it would be helpful... then I can transliterate at my discretion.

Thats a good question. The way i hear it most of the times is Μουχτάρης but some other times i hear it as Μουκτάρης.

i thought Mukhtar was the original turkish word and Mukhtaris the word the Greek Cypriots adapted.

Maybe it is not right, I think that word has arabic or persian origins.

either way in turkish its mukhtar and the Greek Cypriots say mukhtaris.
regardless of the origins.
