For the record Bananiot re, I also think you're wrong on this one... you only have to look at the miniscule levels of support for pro-enosis individual candidates come election time to see that. The only pro-enosis graffiti I've ever seen was written long before I came across it and most Greek Cypriots are happy to be Greek AND Cypriot, they don't desire to be another Crete anymore.

All in all, those facts alone show that Hammerskin represents a tiny minority of Greek Cypriot opinion. I also think that Greek Cypriots are educated to be nationalists, but I also believe that many can see through this and have a greater understanding of Cyprus and Greece's places in the world rather than the antiquated supremacy espoused by Greek fascists.

on the question at hand , i believe there is a difference between the nationalism the average cypriot carries , and the nationalism this guy is proposing. the Greek Cypriots who believe in the superiority of the white race or would subscribe to any neonazi ideology are very very few.

Yes, but we have one thing common. Which is the most Important.
The Greek Pride. Wink

as far as i know there is noone who actually wrote what fascism is . unlike all other political and social moovements who did have a thinker(s) explaining what their ideology is suppose to represent, this is not the case with fascism.. i wouldnt say that this surprises me since the vast majority of those rightwing nutcases are not in a position to make a sensible thought, let alone writing an "ideology".

Enosis ,as far as I can see, is a 'dead' idea to the majority of Greek Cypriot's. I can completely understand why the Greek Cypriot's wanted enosis all those years ago, you only have to look at the History of Greece and Cyprus to understand why. I believe that again for the majority of Greek Cypriots, enosis was never a 'sinister' thing, an attempt to have an ethnically Greek state/country. If it was going to happen it had to happen democratically. However times have changed, Cyprus had never before been independent, but now that is, the Greek Cypriot's have realized that it can work, and actually they much prefer it to just becoming part of Greece, plus it is the only fair way, for everyone in Cyprus to live!! I have been going to Cyprus for years, and I have never come across any pro-enosis graffiti. What the Greek Cypriot's want is reunification, where all Cypriot citizens live together!! They are proud of their Cypriot Country!!Smile

It's like what cannedmoose said, I am 100% proud to be both Cypriot and Greek! Something I share with the majority of Greek Cypriot's (I can't really speak for everyone...Smile)

Yes Moose, we should become a protectorate of the mighty British Empire. British Culture is an oxymoron.

This is British culture:

YAWN... the same old nonsense peddled by those with a cultural superiority complex (largely based on the achievements of ancient ancestors). DA, if you hate this country so much, perhaps you should consider leaving? Then again, I'd hate to see your presence polluting the beauty of Cyprus so perhaps the backstreets of London are indeed the best place for you... Laughing
