I'm not sure if what i have to say really is worth a whole new topic but i'll say it anyway..
I cant really talk on turkish cypriots behalf because the truth is that I really dont know whether it is the case but one thing id like to point out is that on this forum, there are hardly any Greek Cypriots from Cyprus aged 25 and below...

What im trying to say is that maybe that is the problem, I'm from london, i no many other people here are from Britain too and we all want a solution and we all express what we want but it seems to me that the younger Greek Cypriot population IN cyprus is not....

I mean, of course this is something that I notice and this may not be the real case but if the young people living in Cyprus dont seem to be as "interested" then whats the future going to be like..?

I agree, young resident Greek Cypriot's are conspicuous by their absence. Maybe they're too busy killing themselves on their motorcycles, trying to look hard playing loud R&B and American hip-hop and wasting 25 months in the National Guard. As I've said before in a post to Dhavlos, I don't see the young generation desiring (re)unification, if anything they are some of the most radical in the sense of not wanting to live alongside Turkish Cypriots and (God forbid) the 'hated Turks'. Of course, not all of them are like this, but in my experience, the majority feel no kinship with those in the north at all and no attachment to the land in the north beyond the slogans they've been bombarded with since infancy.

cyprus kids from what i have seen are spoilt self centred little brats. My cousin from cyprus has gone to university it england. She speaks hardly no english yet her parents are paying ridiculous amounts of money for her to be here. And all she does is goes shopping. me and my dad drove to derby to help her unpack and she just left and went out with her new friends. I then phoned her mum to find out she thinks its ok.

This is similar to what I was saying about the London Greek Cypriots. Wealth lasts 3 generations. My generation will be back to square one becasue Greek people are too busy with themselves.

I am by no way Mother Teresa but i can honestly say i know where i am going in life and i have a pretty good idea how i am going to do it.

The London Greek Cypriot's just hate turks simple as that. When i challenge them to why i get ' They stole my country'

Fair enough on that i think but when i ask them why the Turks invaded i get an answer along the line of 'They are scum/bastards etc.

I am going to eat later but when i return i will begin a rant about how greek culture is fading.

Yeh, i know what you mean CTD,

when i ask why they think they invaded, they say the same thing....and one of my cousins refused to beleive that it had anything to do with the Greek 'coup'. He refuses to beleive it happened (the failed coup on cyprus)!!!

It has a lot to do with selective education in the greek cypriot community(esp. at greek school!!!)

Your telling me about Greek School. My teacher, also the headmaster, was a no1 fascist. Instead of teaching us the real, non biased story, he'd go off syllabus and tell us about his time in the army and how the "provlima tis kibro akoma vrazei" (there is still a "heated" cyprus problem)...he was also very sexist too but thats another story..lol.

What I have experienced in the Republic of Cyprus is, that the young generation just don't care anymore about the situation. Of course they have been brought up and educated with all this hatress against the turks, but in real life they don't give a damn about it. I have the feeling they are content with their current life.
There is enough entertainment, excitement, possibilities for them and they are far more occupied with sorting their own life out then thinking about the CyProb.

That might be a generalization but thats the overall impression I have.

No i completely agree with you...but deep down, really deep down, there is a common desire to solve the Cyprus problem...somewhere.
