1 pint plain yogurt
1 pint cold water
Salt to taste
Optional: 2 tablespoons crushed, dried mint
Pour yogurt into a bowl and beat until smooth, add water and continue beating until thoroughly blended, or combine in an electric blender and blend until smooth. Season to taste with sald and dried mint. Chill thoroughly and serve in tall glasses, with ice.
Makes 4 servings. |

My wife's a big fan. Everytime we visit a friend of mine in the north, she demands that he serves Ayran... I can't stand the stuff though. |

Can you get it in the Republic of Cyprus Liza? I've never looked for it in the shops so I don't know. Strangely enough, we can get it over here from the Church in Mansfield... |
