The problem about that one is not its high fat content. It is "creamy".The taste is not exactly like the yogurt I know.

It's probably "suzme Yugurt". More like a cheesy spread that goes well with marmalade.

NO!!!

Maybe you can find the yogurt "yasar halim" market in UK. But as we said, this drink is best in hot weather when people lose water and salt too much.

If you stay under sun in cyprus for hours, it will taste very nice believe me!

Any "plain" yogurt should do. It doesn't have to be Cyriot or Greek or Turkish. I recommend the full fat stuff.

I can't believe we're having a 4 page discussion on Ayran. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I honestly think that for someone that hasn't ever tried the stuff, you're better off buying it ready made first time round! Leave it to the professionals!!
Anyway guys I'm surprised you dudes spent so much time on this thread! I'll remember in the future how fond you all are of yoghurt drinks Laughing

Freshly squeezed orange juice beats the crap out of anything Coca Cola make. As for ΦΑΓΕ, I love it because all the other "Greek style" yoghurt around here has the consistency of water, despite ΦΑΓΕ being thicker and stronger than the stuff I'm used to in Cyprus, which is just right and heavenly. But being 100 miles away from the Cypriot area in London, it isn't so easy just to go down to get some yoghurt. Never had this drink, Ayran before though, will look out for it.
